September's Learning

Year Three had a very busy start to their new school year! Have a look at some of the amazing work the children have completed.

In English, the children have been learning how to use the Accelerated Reader reading scheme. They have also been learning how to scan books on and off their account and enjoying some group reading sessions in our wonderful library.  In writing, the children have been thinking about writing accurate sentences, editing their work and learning about non-chronological reports.

In maths, the children have been learning about place value.  They have also been very excited to start using the Times Tables Rock Stars website!

In science, the children have been learning about the different types of teeth we have and what they do.  They also made their own set of teeth, created a poster about how to look after their teeth and did an experiment using egg shells.  The children also found out about food chains and worked in table groups to organise them.

In history, the children have been learning about the History and St Neots and how St Neots got its name. They found out so many amazing facts!

In art, the children have been finding out about the artist Lowry.  They then sketched different buildings in St Neots and drew and painted their own house.

In PSHCE, they have been setting classroom rules and thinking about their emotions.

In computing, they have been learning about Google Classroom and exploring Google Slides ready to make their own slide show about the History of St Neots using the information that they find out during the topic. The children have also been learning how to stay safe online.

They have also been busy learning French and learning to play the glockenspiel in music.  In RE, the children have been learning about people of faith.

In their outdoor PE lessons, they have been improving their ball skills.  In indoor PE, they have been working on their gymnastic skills.

Wow! What a busy month!

What a WONDERFUL start to their first term at Crosshall Junior School!
