April's Learning

We have only been back two weeks after the Easter holidays, but we have been very busy learning lots of new things!

In maths, we have been adding fractions, taking away fractions and finding fractions of amounts.

In English, we have been reading Greek myths, writing Greek mythical creature descriptions, mapping out Greek myths and drawing pictures using descriptions.  We are looking forward to writing our own Greek myths!

In science, we have started learning about Light and Shadows. To start our science topic, we had to look into different shoe boxes to work out what was inside; however, there was no light in the box! When we lifted the flap on the side and let some light in we found out what was in the box.

In computing, we have started to use Scratch and learn about programming.

In art, we have been learning to draw self-portraits and we will be creating an oil pastel portrait of Medusa later this term.

In history, we are learning about Ancient Greece.  For the Sparky Start to our topic, we had our own version of the Greek Olympics! It was really great fun.
