3LJ have been busy today making their photo frames.
Welcome to the Year Three website. On this website, we will be sharing examples of our children's work. This page is a workshop containing examples of learning in action. The work will not be the children's 'final draft’.

Postcards From Greece
This morning, some Year Three children were imagining they were in Greece. In a combination of our current work in both English and geography, the children wrote postcards about what it would be like to be on holiday in Greece.
These examples were written by Maria, Yasmin and Ella.

Persuading The Teacher
As part of our persuasive writing lessons 3JC/DA wrote to their teacher to persuade them to let the class have some extra time on the Adventure Playground. Here are three examples of their attempts:
We shall have to see if their efforts get them what they want!
Mr Ainscow,
Please can you take us on the Adventure Playground because
you have been working hard by teaching us. Mr Ainscow you will get some fresh
air if you take us to go on the adventure. Mr Ainscow can you take us to go to
the adventure playground because you will get fit.
Nydile
Please can you bring us onto the Adventure Playground. I
promise we will all wear our coats and be very careful. You really deserve to
get a run around for being such a good Assistant Headteacher.
Brodie
Dear Mr Ainscow
Please could we go on the Adventure playground. Firstly, we
get some fresh air and you will have some time off your boring job. Finally,
you will not have to shout at naughty children.
Harry
Dear Mr Ainscow,
You and Mrs Cook are the best teachers in the world. I think
you and our class should have a break from all our work and we would like to go
on the Adventure Playground because we haven’t been first in ages. We would
really like it if we’re allowed. We all promise we’ll be really, really,
really, really good.

Home Learning Information for Year Three
This coming term, the home learning expectations are as follows:
Each week, there will be times table practice and either a written consolidation or Mathletics task set. (30 minutes)
In
school, we have a weekly focus on a spelling rule. A list of spellings
to learn that follow the week's rule will be provided. (20 minutes)
Children should read with an adult at least three times a week at home. Where possible, this could be every day. Renaissance Home Connect enables parents to see information about your child's progress within Accelerated Reader.
This home learning will be set on a Thursday and will be due in the following Tuesday. Home learning will recommence on Thursday 11th January.
Spelling tests will take place in the same way they did during the autumn term.
