The children in 3CD have been inspired by the fireworks they have
seen and written some fantastic firework shape poems. The poems
include similes, adjectives, descriptive vocabulary and onomatopoeia. A fantastic read on a crisp, cold autumn night. If you read any, let us know what you think with a comment below.
Welcome to the Year Three website. On this website, we will be sharing examples of our children's work. This page is a workshop containing examples of learning in action. The work will not be the children's 'final draft’.

Year Three Residential Visit to Burwell House
Many of the children in Year Three thoroughly enjoyed their three days at Burwell House. The children enjoyed learning how to map read, use a compass, make 'smelly cocktails', create a natural sculpture using a range of materials and taking part in some blindfolded activities. As well as all the fun activities, the children enjoyed lots of delicious food and developed their teamwork / communication skills.

Fitzwilliam / Sedgewick Museum Visit
Year Three enjoyed their trip to Cambridge to visit the Fitzwilliam and Sedgwick Museums as part of our work on Ancient Egypt in history and Rocks and Soils in science.
At the Fitzwilliam Museum, children were fascinated by the Ancient Egyptian artefacts, particularly the mummy cases. They enjoyed travelling back in time with an expert from the museum and many children asked interesting questions, showing their level of engagement.
At the Sedgwick Museum, children took part in a range of fun activities and especially enjoyed visiting the room full of crystals and seeing the huge dinosaur at the Museum's entrance!
The Year Three teachers were impressed with the behaviour and manners displayed by the children and were pleased to see how much the children benefitted from the learning experience.
